While standing on your bookshelf, seemingly this book won't be much different from the other robust editions in hardcover. But there is something in it, that can't be found in manufactured books. Materiality, almost corporeality of RISO print connects here with a plot, that is composed by simple images. Story is based on collages and associations, which were impacted by them.
Institute, indefined research entity is running an expedition, on which something went not as it was supposed to. But what exactly?
Associations with found journey diary comes to mind. The book is very sensual and organic. Paint is slightly smudging under the fingers and this just intensifies specific mood of the narration. If I may suggest, put Instytut next to your favourite copies of National Geographic. It will be best for it.
