Karolina Wyka bases her work on the threads of private micro-experiences. Thanks to her extraordinary sensitivity, everyday life becomes a source of a multitude of strange sensations processed into images. The reality mixes with dreams, the tangible realm with associations or imaginings. Mushrooms, spiders and mold merge with lunar phases, reflections in the windows and sounds from the stairwell. A neglected dormitory becomes the source of a private mythology, recorded in drawings with an extensive, though sometimes difficult to read narrative.
Created in silkscreen technique, work „Lucky” is a good example of Karolina Wyka's creative practice. The graphic is based on drawings created in sketchbook, but can fully exist by processing it through the filter of graphic procedures involving printing. Rasters and the texture of paint meet with the character of freehand crayon drawing, resulting in an extremely intriguing effect.
I am extremely pleased to include „Lucky” in the Oficyna catalog and encourage you to order the artwork!

„Lucky is one of the first fungus I noticed in my dormitory after the renovation. All the doors, windows and holes in the roof welcomed him openly. In moments of desperation, I listened to candy music. After another phone call ignored by the administration, I colored it in my favorite colors and imagined that maybe Britney Spears could reveal herself to me in such a mushroom.”
Due to big size of the parcel we ship the print rolled in a transport tube.
