ZINA PRO Workshops

ZINA PRO Workshops

375,00 zł
TICKET TYPE:

PRO Zines are specialized workshops for people who want to take their publication design to the next level – more consciously, technically, with a focus on printing and the final physical object.

This is an intensive course in digitally designed formats, imposition, and layouts. We work on real publications that you will then print, fold, and bind in your chosen format.

In the program:

  • You will learn to calculate page formats depending on the printing sheets and the chosen printing technique.
  • You will perform advanced imposition on your own – from understanding the logic of page arrangement to preparing the final production files.
  • You will build unusual mockups – foldable, multi-part, with additional inserts/variable formats – and learn how to implement them in practice.
  • You'll see examples from our zine collection – we'll discuss their construction, layout logic, mistakes, and best practices.
  • You will design, print, fold and sew your own zine on our color printer – in the format of your choice.

The purpose of the workshop

The aim of the workshop is to build a workflow that will allow you to design zines completely independently: from format planning, through mock-up and imposition, to a print-ready publication.

After these classes, we want you to be able to work with any printing technique, consciously choosing tools, formats, and technical solutions.

If you create and want to publish your zine, we will show you what you need to do BEFORE and AFTER creating the content.

Why is it worth it?

  • I'll show you how to avoid the most common mistakes when designing zines—you'll get concrete examples instead of abstract advice.
  • You will learn to think about a publication as a system : format-layout-print, and not just as a pretty design.
  • You'll leave with a finished zine prototype that you can later reproduce using any technique (Riscope, digital, offset). You can also print and assemble it in small quantities (depending on the project).
  • You will learn work practices that actually shorten design time and minimize the risk of printing errors.
  • You will see that even with unusual formats and experimental solutions you can work simply and logically .
